- Find a wooden chair that needs some lovin'. Remove the seat cushion. Set it aside, along with the screws.
- Sand the entire chair in the direction of the grain. Remove the dust with a damp rag or tack cloth.
- Spray the chair with Rust-Oleum Universal Metallic paint and primer according to the manufacturer's instructions. Let dry and repeat as needed for full coverage.
- Measure up and mark 15cm from the bottom of all the chair legs. Tape-off all the way around each leg at the 15cm mark.
-
Spray paint the bottom of each chair leg white. Remove tape and let paint dry completely.
-
If desired, remove the existing fabric on the seat. In the featured project, there was beautiful vintage green leather buried under two layers of fabric so I kept it! If you want to change the upholstery, use the chair seat as a template and cut a new piece 5cm larger all the way around.
-
Use a staple gun to secure the new fabric, pulling it taut as necessary for a professional finish.
-
Place the seat back onto the chair frame, and then secure it to the frame from below using the original screws.
